Pantone's 2018 Color of the Year is giving us serious FOB vibes

The 2018 Pantone Color of the Year is here and it's AMAZING: Yep, it's Ultra Violet. According to Pantone, it's a “dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade,” saying that it communicates originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking.

The purple hue is gorgeous, and, of course, it reminds us of something else… you know… M A  N   I    A-related.

There's no denying that the color is giving us some serious Fall Out Boy vibes, and we aren't even the only ones who noticed it.

Fall Out Boy's DCD2 Records noticed the exact same thing, and honestly, we're all about it.

FOB's “Ultra Violet” purple has taken over (basically) everything. Yep, even those incredible dancing llamas, which also happened to rank No. 4 on Giphy's list of most popular GIFs for 2017.

As Pantone explains, enigmatic purples have “long been symbolic of counterculture, unconventionality and artistic brilliance,” and there's no arguing that M A  N   I    A is going to be artistically brilliant, right?

Welcome to 2018: The year of Fall Out Boy and PANTONE 18-3838.
