QUIZ: Do you remember the lyrics to “Emergency” by Paramore?

2005 was a peak year for the scene, delivering us unforgettable albums from Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, the All-American Rejects and more. The landmark year for music also brought us the first incredible full-length from Paramore, All We Know Is Falling.

From first single “Pressure” to the emotionally charged “All We Know,” the album was stacked, to say the least. However, it was “Emergency” that propelled the band to rightful recognition with a timeless video to match. In fact, the iconic dress Hayley Williams wears made its way to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, most recently appearing in the Warped Tour exhibit last year.

You’re not the only one who gets nostalgic for 2005-era Paramore, as the band have shared plenty of reflections over the years. Back in 2013, Williams celebrated eight years of the record with a heartfelt statement.

“Our 1st album is 8 yrs old today!!” she shared in a note on Instagram. “So crazy. Touring on our debut album held some of the greatest experiences I’ll ever know. Seeing the country for the [first] time from the back of our 12-passenger van, getting kicked out of venues after our sets cause we weren’t old enough to really hang there, playing our first sold out show at Beat Kitchen in Chicago! So many memories. Picture to the left is from our [first] SXSW show. (Jerm and I were trying so hard to be tough, even though he’s wearing a headband and I’m wearing a Harry Potter shirt.) And the one on the bottom right is from our very [first] show ever after we got signed to [Fueled By Ramen]. We opened for Fall Out Boy, the Academy Is…, Gym Class Heroes and Silverstein. (Yeah, some newbies don’t know, but I played guitar at acoustic shows back then). Anyway, thank you so much to everyone who’s come along with us on the most ridiculous rollercoaster ride ever. Here’s to 8 more years?!”

Two years later, Williams reflected on 10 years of the release with AltPress.

“I think a lot of people don’t like to listen to their first record because it’s sort of like reading your own diary. But I just feel so, in a not-crappy way, very proud of that album. Like, bursting with pride about it,” Williams says. “I don’t have a lot of yearbook photos. I only have up until about seventh grade. But I have albums that I can go back and listen to or read the lyrics to and remember exactly what I was doing or what I was thinking. And that feels amazing.”

Then in 2017, the band marked the anniversary with a slew of throwback photos, writing, “12 years ago when all we knew was falling”
