The AltPress cover star has had a busy year already and intends to finish it out even stronger. “So Mean” is Poppy’s third single from her forthcoming full-length and follows the release of “Her” as well as the album’s title track. Poppy began teasing fans about the upcoming imagery Aug. 23 when she tweeted a date and a photo from the music video.

Where her previous single “Flux” featured intense guitars and drums, “So Mean” boasts a lighthearted air and warm tones. Produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Deafheaven, St. Vincent), upbeat rhythms drive the singer through low vocalizations in each verse before she moves into a higher octave for the chorus. Directed by Poppy, the accompanying music video serves as a first look as to what fans can expect from her upcoming tour.

Poppy hits the road this fall in support of her upcoming album release. Tickets are available here, and dates are listed below. Flux drops Sept. 24 and is available to preorder via Sumerian Records.
