Rebecca Black and 3OH!3 bring back "Friday" in stacked new remix—watch
It’s hard to believe it’s been a decade since Rebecca Black released “Friday,” the song we either hate to love or love to hate.
Now, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of “Friday,” Black has called upon some familiar faces for a stacked new remix. On Wednesday, she unleashed the trippy new video for the remix that features 3OH!3, Big Freedia, Dorian Electra and was produced by 100 gecs‘ Dylan Brady.

In 2011, 13-year-old Rebecca Black’s world turned upside down when her video for “Friday” hit the internet. The video went on to earn over 150 million views worldwide and rank No.1 on YouTube and Billboard‘s Heatseekers Chart. Earlier this week, “Friday” was even certified RIAA Gold.
Now, Rebecca Black is bringing “Friday” back for a stacked new remix that features 3OH!3, Big Freedia and Dorian Electra. As it turns out, Black has had this idea for a “Friday” remix for a very long time.
“I’d had the idea to do this remix of ‘Friday’ for years leading up to now but honestly it was also mildly insane for me to think anyone else would want to be a part of it,” Black says. “As I started talking about it with other artists and producers I couldn’t believe how stoked people were about it. I am thrilled to have some of my favorite artists (and people) as a part of this moment – Dylan Brady, Dorian Electra, Big Freedia, 3OH!3.”

The campy video for the “Friday (Remix),” which was directed by Weston Allen, has a futuristic landscape that separates the single from its 2011 roots.
“’Friday’ has this accidental campiness that was a part of making it what it was, and through the years, camp has been something I’ve only further tried to embrace,” Allen says.
In the video, Black can be seen cruising around the city with her “Friday” award plaque sitting comfortably in the passenger seat. Throughout her journey, she encounters the remix’s collaborators including 3OH!3’s Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte who appear to her in out of this world forms.
The “Friday (Remix)” marks the latest song from 3OH!3 who are getting ready to release their first album in five years sometime in 2021.
Naturally, the resurgence of the controversial song has caused a lot of opinions to float around online this week. In fact, “Rebecca Black” began trending on Twitter on Wednesday.
