In May, Rise Against announced their Nowhere Generation tour. The summer run will see the group perform in over a dozen U.S. cities.

Alternative Press and Live Nation have partnered to offer an exclusive ticket giveaway for the tour. Pairs of tickets will be available for five cities and can be won by tagging your friends on Instagram.

The Nowhere Generation tour kicks off in late July. When Rise Against hit the road, they will stop in a number of cities, including New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas and Chicago.

Many of the performances will be held in open-air amphitheaters. Vocalist Tim McIlrath sees the event as a long-awaited answer to the COVID-19 shutdown.

“A year without live music in a time when we needed it most has been trying for all of us,” McIlrath says. “Live music has been missing from all of our lives for far too long. We can’t wait to fix that on the Nowhere Generation tour. It’s been a long year, and we have a lot to say about it.”

When the band finally hit the road once again, they will travel in support of their new album, Nowhere Generation. Released June 4 via Loma Vista Recordings, the new record is the group’s first new studio effort in four years.

To develop the new project, Rise Against worked with longtime producer/engineer and Descendents drummer Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, A Day To Remember). The producer has collaborated with Rise Against on the majority of their releases since the 2003 album Revolutions Per Minute. The group also joined Jason Livermore, Andrew Berlin and Chris Beeble to record the album at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Fans got a chance to hear the album’s title track in March. A scathing anthem chock full of social critique, the song hinted at the deep political themes across the whole album.

“Today there is the promise of the American Dream, and then there is the reality of the American Dream,” McIlrath says of the track. “America’s ‘historical norm’ that the next generation will be better off than the one that came before has been diminished by an era of mass social, economic and political instability and a sell-out of the middle class.

“The brass ring that was promised by hard work and dedication no longer exists for everyone,” McIlrath continues. “When the privileged climb the ladder of success and then burn it from the top, disruption becomes the only answer.”

Now, the group have released an acoustic version of their passionate anthem. Featuring vocals by Meg Myers, the song dropped alongside a new video.

Finally able to tour at long last, the band will deliver the full political force of their new material live and in person. Tickets for the show are available now and can be purchased on the band’s website.

Ahead of the run, AltPress is offering a special ticket giveaway. Tickets will be available for the performances in Philadelphia, Houston, San Francisco, Maryland Heights and Chicago.
