blink-182 aren’t the only band the Chainsmokers shout out thanks to new song

It was hard to escape the Chainsmokers in the summer of 2016. Everywhere you went, “Closer” featuring fellow emo-loving Halsey was bound to play at some point.

We didn’t really mind though as Halsey gave one of our faves a shout-out as she sang, “Stay and play that blink-182 song/That we beat to death in Tucson, OK.” A few months later, we finally got the answer to which blink track they beat to death in Tucson.

“We were listening to blink-182’s ‘I Miss You’ and had just started playing it in our sets when we wrote this song,” the duo stated on their Genius.com page. “A lot of the inspiration for the song writing comes from bands like Blink-182 and Taking Back Sunday.”

Now, blink-182 are no longer alone in their praise. The Chainsmokers released a new track titled “Beach House,” which you guessed it, gives indie pop duo Beach House a mention.

“Woke up on the west side/Listening to Beach House taking my time.”

Outside of the track name and that first line, there isn’t much else mentioned about Beach House. However, the band tweeted about the inclusion when posting the song this morning.

“Really love this song as well ‘cause we tried to get back to our roots on this with that classic OG Chainsmoker feel,” the duo says. “And we were listening to a lot of Beach House”
