Tool album slated for No. 1 debut, dethroning Taylor Swift

It seems that all anyone is talking about is the long-awaited Tool album, Fear Inoculum. Since it’s release last Friday, Aug. 30, fans have been raving over the 7-track, 85-minute long album.

Now, it looks like the album is slated to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, booting Taylor Swift‘s Lover from the top spot.

And her fans are NOT happy.

According to Hits Daily Double, Tool will claim the No. 1 spot on tomorrow’s charts. That means they’ll be knocking Taylor Swift’s recently released album Lover from the spot after just one week.

Tool are currently on pace to sell between 220,000 and 240,000 albums in the U.S. in its first week. Swift, going into her second week of sales, is expected to hit between 185,000 to 200,000 albums.

Swiftys are not happy, with some having no idea who Tool is.

Should counts hold true, Tool will become the second metal band to snag the top spot in the past month, joining Slipknot following their recently released albumWe Are Not Your Kind.
