Is Twitter finally adding an edit button?
Twitter users have been begging for an edit button for years. A number of celebrities even tried to get the feature by tagging the company’s official profile with no luck.
However, that might be changing soon.

Twitter has been weirdly reluctant to add an edit button to its platform, even though its users really, really want it.
Among the edit button enthusiasts is Kim Kardashian, who even asked Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey in person to add the feature.

However, her efforts were apparently in vain. Another celebrity is adding to the voices in favor of the function, and he might get better results.
On Oct. 21, makeup mogul Jeffree Star took to his profile to ask for the button.
“Dear Twitter, we need an edit button on our tweets,” Star writes. “Sincerely, everyone.”
And guess what? He got an answer… and it’s a quite hopeful one.
“Dear everyone,” Twitter replies. “Noted.”
Plus, the tweet even had a heart. Could this mean our prayers were finally heard? Are we getting an edit button?

Twitter recently created a policy that addresses dehumanizing language on the platform. It “the promotion of violence against or direct attacks or threats against other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability or serious disease.”
The effort will expand the hateful conduct policy to include content that dehumanizes others based on their identity or membership in a minority group.
Under the current policy, if a group is not specifically named then the tweet—no matter how offensive the contents—doesn’t break the hateful conduct policy. The new policy will include tweets that do not directly target any one or more groups, or “sub tweets.”
