Watch the nail-biting new clip, below, and see how the scares get set up in the Nicholas McCarthy-directed film that hits theaters Feb. 8. We surely can’t wait to jump out of our seats for this one! But can you figure out what’s wrong with Miles?

According to the trailer vid’s YouTube description, the latest celluloid thrill ride from the filmmaker behind The Pact and At The Devil’s Door owes some of its “unimaginable horror” to the producer of 2005’s supernatural terror entry The Exorcism of Emily Rose, who lent their expertise to the picture starring Jackson Robert Scott and Taylor Schilling.

“What’s wrong with Miles? From the producer of Exorcism of Emily Rose comes a new vision of unimaginable horror. Watch the full trailer for The Prodigy, starring Taylor Schilling and Jackson Robert Scott, in theaters February 8.”

And the wicked new trailer comes hot on the heels of the heart-stopping movie poster for the imminent flick, itself following the frightening first teaser for the film that was originally titled Descendants, according to a line by The Hollywood Reporter.

Of course, horror buffs will recognize the upcoming film’s youthful star in Scott, the ten-year-old Hollywood prodigy child who also played Georgie in the successful 2017 cinema reboot of Stephen King‘s classic scary-story-made-best-seller It.

The Prodigy also features Saw 3D‘s Oluniké Adelyi and All My Children‘s Brittany Allen in addition to Canadian actors Colm Feore and Peter Mooney. Previously, it was reported that one scene in the movie was so scary the director had to change it.

This horror movie trailer‘s final moments will scare the sh*t out of you https://www.altpress.com/the-prodigy-trailer-horror/ Mon, 22 Oct 2018 20:39:46 +0000 https://www.altpress.com/the-prodigy-trailer-horror/ This year has been full of some truly treacherous new horror flicks. From John Krasinski’s haunting film A Quiet Place all the way to the mind-boggling thriller Hereditary, how can any movie top what we’ve seen in 2018?

The great minds from Orion Pictures who released such films as The Belko Experiment (2017) and the iconic The Silence Of The Lambs (1991) introduced their new film The Prodigy.

The movie stars Taylor Schilling (Orange Is The New Black) as Sarah, mother to Miles, played by Jackson Robert Scott. Scott is most well-known as Georgie from 2017’s horror-hit It.

He’s trading his yellow raincoat, red balloon and boat in for horrifying skeleton face makeup reminiscent of Tate Langdon from American Horror Story.

The plot follows Sarah as she sees her son Miles demonstrate some behaviors that are anything but normal. Evil may be lurking in her son, but Sarah’s motherly instincts cannot be stopped.

The teaser depicts Miles in a therapist’s office who’s speaking in a soothing voice to the sound of a metronome. Who knew a simple ticking sound could make your hair stand up?

Only those brave enough should proceed and watch what happens next. Hold your popcorn tight. The end of The Prodigy trailer might send it flying.

This film will be in theaters everywhere Feb. 8, 2019.

For horror fans, make sure to keep your eyes out for the trailer playing exclusively before the new Halloween movie out right now.

Halloween had a fantastic opening weekend, and already broke several records.

Only costing $10 million to produce, Halloween has earned an estimated $77.5 million its opening weekend, making it the second biggest October opening ever. It fell just short of Tom Hardy’s superhero film Venom, which had a $80.2 million opening a few weeks ago.

Halloween also had the tenth best opening for an R-rated movie of any genre.

Now that’s something to scream about.
