Taking Back Sunday's Adam Lazzara premieres folky new solo song, "Because It Works"

Taking Back Sunday's Adam Lazzara has debuted a folky new solo song, “Because It Works.” The track, which features Lazzara on acoustic guitar and harmonica, is quite a departure from his band's typical sound, and can be streamed now via Fuse.

“Because It Works,” will appear on Our Voices, an upcoming four-way split EP from I Surrender Records, also featuring Bayside's Anthony Raneri, Saves The Day's Chris Conley, and I Am The Avalanche's Vinnie Caruana. The record is slated for release Nov. 25, and can be pre-ordered now on iTunes or on vinyl or digital through the label.

Anthony Raneri – “String Me Along”
Chris Conley – “Diamonds & White Gold”
Vinnie Caruana – “Sick Down to My Heart”

Though the direction of this song might surprise some fans, Lazzara and TBS bandmate John Nolan told us back in July that the group's upcoming sixth full-length album will bear some alt-country influence and more diverse instrumentation.

Lazzara recently rejoined Taking Back Sunday on their fall tour, which concludes this evening in Long Island, N.Y. The singer was forced to leave the tour abruptly late last month, following a family emergency, while ex-Underoath frontman Spencer Chamberlain was tapped to fill-in for a week of shows.
