See Swifties recreate their favorite Taylor Swift looks on opening night of the Eras Tour

I started listening to Taylor Swift when I was 10 and this is my first time seeing her. I’m from the Philippines, and when I moved here, I wanted to take any opportunity that I could to see her. Her music saved me a lot — it literally extended my life. I love the way she writes.

This was inspired by the outfit from “ME!” but I saw some jewels at Michaels and thought I’d make it “Bejeweled” too!

I’ve grown up with her — she’s been my go-to artist since I was really little. My first concert was her Red tour when she came to Glendale, and it was one of the best nights of my life! I’m really happy to be back.

My outfit is inspired by what she wears in the “Willow” music video!

I was in fourth grade when [her] debut came out and it was such a big deal! I grew with her and she with me, through all of my stages through life.

I took a break from being a Taylor Swift fan when it wasn’t “cool,” which was such a superficial reason. When reputation came out, her life and my life were colliding at the same time. She was feeling that angst at the same time I was, so that album was a reintroduction to me for Taylor Swift. This ensemble reflects that!

Honestly, what isn’t there to love about Taylor Alison Swift? I’ve never seen a celebrity more kind and giving to her fans, all while being so incredibly talented and overly meticulous about anything and everything she puts out and is involved in. From her passion to her talent is inspiring and she’s so wildly brilliant in more ways than one that it’s so hard not to support her. On top of that, her music is so addicting and she’s constantly reinventing herself to appeal to more people — even multi-generational at this point. It’s so amazing to see her growth over the years and realizing that she’s treated her fans the same since day one — even while being one of the top artists in the world. 

My outfit is inspired by the “ME!” music video. It’s so colorful and fun and the minute I saw the pink heart dress, I immediately knew I wanted to recreate it for Lover Fest in 2020. Sadly, after that got cancelled, I just really couldn’t get it out of my head. Lately I’ve been really into 60s/70s fashion, and it’s the perfect blend of that plus classic Taylor Swift — quirky and sparkly. I found the perfect pieces to pull the look together myself, and while Lover might not necessarily be my favorite Taylor Swift era currently, it’s definitely one of my favorite music video looks she’s ever worn. I tend to recreate her looks for her concerts, but this is hands down my favorite recreation yet.

I love Taylor because she’s created such a space for people to feel excited about their passions, regardless of how far fetched they may seem. [And] also because she’s someone who is going to be creating music until she physically can’t anymore because she loves it so much, and to see someone with that much love for their work, is inspiring

“Karma” inspired my fit! I have such a strong connection to her Sagittarius mindset of I know I’m gonna be just fine because I know me and my worth, and that line just makes me feel like a superhero.

I think I’ve decided that, other than her artistry, she is one of the biggest forces in my becoming. For 15 years I have been inspired and comforted by her, and she’s always been such a kindred spirit. Her reaction to an art piece I made for her in 2009 encouraged me to pursue a life in the arts; there’s an invisible string between her and most good things in my life and who I have become. I’m forever grateful I found her music so early in her career, to have her as my peer, and to live in the same lifetime as her. She makes being alive and being human so much more beautiful and bearable. 

I made my T-shirt for the 1989 tour with a lyric from “Holy Ground,” “Tonight I’m gonna dance for all that we’ve been through.” On the back is a list of dates of every time I’ve seen her perform live between 2008 and 2015. I actually wore it to a reputation tour date, as well, but the lyric was so appropriate for the past three years that I decided to wear it a third time. I paired the outfit with moon earrings for Midnights, nails painted the colors of each album. My “love” ring that is the same as the one she wore from a fan from 2009-2010; a stack of Taylor themed bracelets as a nod to when she used to stack bracelets from 2008-2010; some friendship bracelets from fan friends as a reference to the “You’re On Your Own Kid” lyric; lace up boots like the ones Taylor wore in the folklore album photoshoot; and I topped it all off with the turquoise 13 on my hand how she used to paint it during the Fearless tour. It was so fun to try to represent every era in a cohesive way while still staying true to my own style and using pieces I already have!

I love Taylor Swift because, without even knowing it, she’s gotten me through every stage of life since I was 8-years-old. She had a song for every achievement, heartbreak, dance party, and loss I’ve ever experienced. I admire the way she stands up for herself in the classiest ways and am so proud of everything she’s done. Taylor is truly my comfort person!

When I heard Taylor announce the Eras Tour, I knew I needed an outfit that would showcase multiple iconic moments from her career, just like the tour would do! I picked four memorable outfits from her past projects to mash up into one. Getting Taylor’s approval on the outfit through a TikTok like made my entire year!

I have been such a huge fan of Taylor for years. Not only do I love her music, but I love her as a performer. Her shows are a production and so theatrical! It’s been five years since I've seen her on tour and it felt so, so good to be back!

The inspiration behind my outfit was definitely the Midnights era. I tried to recreate her VMAs afterparty look with the blue and the stars!

I’ve loved Taylor ever since I first heard “Tim McGraw” in 2006. There’s something enchanting about her lyrics, her voice, and overall her music. Her music has gotten me through so many periods of my life and is an anchor to a multitude of important memories for me. She brings people together, and lets us bond over one common thing: her music. Her lyrics dive into such deep concepts and reveal stuff that sometimes I didn’t even know about myself. “Soon You’ll Get Better” feels like it was written about me and my battle with medical issues. Somehow it feels like she’s personally written songs for me and I know every Swiftie feels like that. She makes us feel seen and heard, and that’s so special. I love Taylor because she’s a part of who I am, I’ve grown up with her. I truly can’t imagine my life without her. 

My outfit was inspired by the lyric from “Don’t Blame Me,” “I once was poison ivy, but now I’m your daisy.” This lyric represents how you can be considered toxic by the public, reduced to something everyone avoids in fear of what it might do to their reputation — but it just takes that someone to cherish you and appreciate you to show you that you’re still a daisy, that you still shine and matter. My friend Lindsay is my daisy.

I love Taylor because she is a storytelling role model to me and inspires me that there is no limit to your creativity, your success, or your dreams. On top of that, her heart and love for her fans is extra special.

My inspiration behind my outfit is that I wanted to include hand-drawn symbols from all of her eras on my pants and jacket! I even cartooned each of her album covers for the back of my jacket.

I’ve loved Taylor since her debut, but really became a huge fan during the Speak Now era. Her music has always had such a wonderful importance to me, putting into words all of the feelings I have but can’t articulate. I was very shy, depressed, anxious, and lonely as a teenager and felt such a strong comfort in her music, which always made me feel empowered to speak my truth, to be honest, and to love and connect with people, even if it’s difficult. Taylor herself has always been a huge inspiration to me, as someone I feel has shown so much growth, kindness, and self awareness. She is someone I look to as a role model who, although has made mistakes in her life, has learned from them and works to be the best version of herself she can be, while always staying true to herself at the end of the day!

Speak Now is my favorite album and it’s why I chose this look for the Eras Tour. During the Speak Now era, I was 12 going on 13 and it was when I really became a huge fan and became involved in the online Swiftie community through social media. That album has always held a very special place in my heart, not only because I love pop-rock with a country-influenced sound, but also because of what that album represents and the lyrical content of many of the songs. That album felt like Taylor coming into her own as an adult, learning what should and should not be tolerated in relationships with others — not only romantic, but platonic, as well — and finding her voice through it all, while still having that layer of magic, whimsy, and optimism that defines who Taylor is. 

Since hearing that album for the first time, I always wanted to try to look at the world the way Taylor does, with a realistic understanding of my place, but also making sure to maintain and find happiness and magic where I know it can exist!

I love Taylor because aside from being the greatest songwriter of my generation. She’s very vibrant and enthusiastic about life, even despite people who think being earnest is embarrassing. She stands up for herself, and it reminds me to do the same. 

The inspiration for my outfit is Taylor’s Grammy dress and matching mask in 2021 when folklore won Album of the Year. I made it myself and made it sleeveless so that I can write lyrics on my arms as a nod to the Speak Now tour.

I’ve always been drawn to Taylor for her storytelling. She’s vulnerable in a way that most people shy away from, allowing her writing to resonate with people of so many different backgrounds. She also fosters such a passionate relationship with her fans, which I admire as a creator myself, but also as someone who has been lucky enough to make impactful friendships because of our shared interest in her work. Our group pic is the first meet-up of our five-year-old Black Swiftie Group Chat. We message each other daily about Taylor, but also our lives and important issues.

My costume, a recreation of the Red tour ringleader outfit, was inspired by Taylor taking back control of her masters. I designed the concept, but my mother did all of the sewing and embroidery work. I’m most proud of the “Red (Taylor’s Version)” on the cuffs and the silhouette of Taylor embroidered on the back. My mother’s sewing and embroidery business, LaurieMakes.com, was actually started when Taylor gifted my family $3,000 to help us stay safe during the pandemic, which brought attention to our brand new mask-making business and helped us stay financially stable in 2020.

I love Taylor firstly because she makes excellent music. Her style of songwriting and song composition is always something that I have loved. I love the storytelling and the fact that it’s filled with literary devices. As a poetry and story lover, her music feels like exactly that — stories told through poetry. Also, I’ve never met her, but she seems like a great person. Everyone who has met her only has good things to say. I love her character, as well as the music she makes

I love Taylor because she’s such a wordsmith. Her storytelling skills remind me so much of Bruce Springsteen, another artist I love. She makes you feel pretty much everything — whether you’re falling in love, getting over heartbreak, or taking in the scenery of life that surrounds you.

The inspo for my fit was the Midnights era. The album came at the tail end of a toxic relationship for me, and I refused to surrender such a fantastic body of work to that situation. I hold the album dear to me. One of my favorite tracks is “Lavender Haze,” so it was a no-brainer to go with all purple and sparkles.
