Taylor Swift's new song "LWYMMD" clearly samples Peaches' "Operate"

Taylor Swift has had Twitter freaking out since her initial, hardcore-inspired announcement for her new album, Reputation, and last night she debuted her new song, “Look What You Made Me Do.” Twitter pointed out what appears to be confirmed: Her sampling of the Peaches track, “Operate.”

On first listen, it’s clear that the track is catchy—and super familiar.

There’s the first connection that we all can make: The 1991 hit “I’m Too Sexy,” by Right Said Fred. And it’s deliberate, of course—the band members, Richard Fairbrass, Fred Fairbrass and Rob Manzoli, were all given songwriting credit, according to Genius. And they praised the tune:

And the Twitter world was quick to notice the Peaches influence, too. The track clearly sounds like “Operate,” which, according to Genius, is sampled on her newest offering.
