Tenacious D reveal Jack White-produced single release date

Back in August, it seemed that Jack Black and Jack White were trying to make “Jack Gray” a real thing. During a Tenacious D show in Nashville, Black revealed they had recorded a brand new song with White to be released via Third Man Records.

Now, it looks like we finally have a release date.

To backtrack, the “Jack Gray” collab was teased earlier this year although it was unclear if White would be featured on the track, or if he simply had a hand in producing it.

According to the Tennessean, Black addressed the crowd before the band’s encore during their Nashville show in August.

“Jack White,” Black said, “we went over to his house today and recorded a brand new song.”

He also revealed that fans can expect the release via White’s label, Third Man Records, soon.

Now, TMR has revealed that the project between Jack Black and Jack White will arrive just in time for Record Store Day Black Friday.

The Blue Series 7″ was produced by White and will mark the first Tenacious D Blue Series single release in over four years.

Available Nov. 29, the 7″ will be available in black vinyl with tri-color variants available only at TMR’s Nashville and Detroit storefronts.
