Matty Healy denies the 1975 hiatus rumor following next album

The 1975 appear to be up to something incredibly mysterious. The English pop-rockers seem to be behind a new website known as mindshower.ai. The website is relatively bare except for some odd quotes and two buttons for press and bookings.

Just last week, the 1975 dropped their touching music video for “Me & You Together Song.” Matty Healy also provided good news by denying rumors of a hiatus in the future.

The 1975 dropped their most recent single “Me & You Together Song” in January. They also announced their North American tour. Thus far, we’ve received four tracks from the highly anticipated album Notes On A Conditional Form that releases April 24.  “People,” “Frail State Of Mind,” “Me & You Together Song” and “The 1975” are all set to appear on the record.

Now, the 1975 seem to be pulling the strings behind the scenes of an incredibly odd promotion of sorts. We’ll first break down all the things we know.

There is a website known as mindshower.ai. The website is very simple except for a couple of buttons and weird affirmations that are spoken when clicked. They include “Affirmations-Everyday-Life,” “I Pay Attention And At Heart!” and “I Make Small Voice Within.” The website also has a countdown that will end up Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. GMT/1 p.m. EST.

We know that we can expect a new single from the 1975 before this coming weekend because their manager told us so in a tweet last week. The o2 shows take place in London on Feb. 21 and Feb 22.

So, it could be that the countdown on the website is for the next single. But it’s still very weird. Guitarist Adam Hann retweeted the only tweet that the official mindshower.ai account has posted. The tweet is an almost creepy video that can be viewed below.

In addition, vocalist Matty Healy posted a strange image with the caption “MIND SHOWER.”

The mindshower.ai Twitter is also following one twitter account known as snowflakemasher86 or @snwflkmshr86. That account also has one original tweet that says you can find them on Facebook. Some may remember snowflakermasher86 from their most recent album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.

When you arrive to Facebook, the account has one post from Oct. 31, 2018 that says “Hello, you found me on Facebook…”

The whole thing is really quite odd but we’re going to guess that a new single is right around the corner. Healy also posted a picture of what could be a new music video for a single from the upcoming album titled “The Birthday Party.” Healy has discussed in the past that the song would appear on Notes On A Conditional Form.

In other the 1975 news, fans don’t really need to worry about them breaking up. In a recent Twitter exchange, one user was discussing they heard the 1975 could take a break following Notes On A Conditional Form. Healy assuaged those concerns by saying the rumors are not true. They already have music for after the album and they plan to do a whole lot of touring.

Mindshower.ai can be visited directly here. Last month they announced a stacked North American tour. Tickets went on sale to the general public beginning Friday, January 24 here.

As an added bonus, one dollar from each ticket sold will go to One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization that plants trees all over the world to fight climate change, protect biodiversity, empower communities and restore our planet. Their aim is to reforest the planet, one tree at a time.

Notes On A Conditional Form releases April. 24 and can be preordered here. The tour kicks off on April 27 and runs through mid-June. Check out a full list of dates below.
