The Ghost Inside tease pre-accident, unreleased track

The Ghost Inside have released a short teaser of a forthcoming track titled “Aftershock.” According to The PRP, the track was recorded prior to their bus accident in 2015.

On frontman Jonathan Vigil’s Twitch account, he and bass guitarist Jim Riley revealed a snippet of the song during a Fortnight-related stream.

After talking with Riley about how he loves Twitch and the platform it has given him, Vigil played a teaser of “Aftershock.”

“It was at a time when the accident took so much from us,” Vigil says. “It felt like I lost everything, you know? But being able to talk to people brought me back to life. I was having a rough time for a while.”

“I had no plans to play a song, but Jim was like, ‘Why not?’,” Vigil continues. “You guys get one more because I didn’t play the right version and I want you guys to hear the right version.”

In the rest of the Twitch stream, the pair talk about their past (apparently terrible) projects when they were 16, their sponsorship with Fleshlight and overall, their long journey with The Ghost Inside.

Back in November 2015, the band were involved in a serious bus accident that claimed the lives of their driver and everyone in the other vehicle. All members of the band and crew survived. Since then, the band has faced an extensive road to recovery, both mentally and physically.

In May, the band shared a statement about the future of The Ghost Inside.

“Spending a week together as bandmates answered the question that has been on all of our minds—yes there is a future for TGI,” the band shares in a Facebook post. “We still aren’t sure exactly what it looks like. It might be one show, it might be a few shows. It could be a new song or a whole new record. Our journey into that future is just beginning, and we will bring everyone that is interested along with us.”
