Mothica turned the darkest period of her life into ragers

Mothica has been to hell and back, and her new album Nocturnal represents a new chapter. Hopeful and heavy, Mothica drew from a breadth of artists, including Rina Sawayama, Charli XCX, Poppy and Bring Me The Horizon. Additionally, her newfound sobriety gave her the confidence to experiment. “I will always use dark imagery and a rock influence in everything, even if it’s not a straight rock song, because that’s what I grew up on,” she says. “I’m trying to find a way to Mothify it.” Check out the full story here.

Long Island, New York is synonymous with hardcore and emo music, home to legends such as Glassjaw to Taking Back Sunday. Safe to say, Koyo are the region’s next rising stars. “Nostalgia is a dangerous thing, but people innately fall back on what they grew up on,” vocalist Joey Chiaramonte says. “When the greater culture is down for mixed bills, diverse-sounding lineups ranging from heavy to soft, existing under the same rooftop, then everyone wins.” Read the full interview here.
