The Maine unveil details, influence for forthcoming album ‘You Are Ok’

In an interview at the official 8123 store, the Maine frontman John O’Callaghan sits down with the Arizona Republic’s Ed Masley for an in-depth preview of the band’s forthcoming album You Are Ok.

The interview details the band’s creative process with You Are Ok as well as what fans could potentially expect on the forthcoming record.

“The biggest thing we’ve sort of kept with is to always deviate from whatever we’ve done, for the most part,” O’Callaghan says. “We’ve kept a lot of things in-tact; I think that’s more of a grounding sort of headspace — Like, stay humble, and keep working hard. As far as sonics go, I think that has always been a big goal from record to record or EP to EP. It’s always been the drive to make something different-sounding.”

The interview goes on to reveal the band’s goals, how You Are Ok stands out in their discography and the record’s major influences, such as Tears For Fears.
