A new trailer for The Matrix Resurrections is out now, giving fans a deeper look into the film’s plotline and giving answers to a number of fan theories.

Slated for release Dec. 22, the new installment is the highly anticipated fourth film in the franchise. The film will see original cast members Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively.

In the latest trailer, we see the return of Trinity, confirming that she’s still alive after The Matrix Revolutions. By utilizing a life pod, the preview indicates Trinty survives much like Neo following his death in the third installment.

Original writer and director Lana Wachowski will be returning to the franchise. Alongside prior cast members, a slew of new stars are joining the cast, including Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Christina Ricci.

The Matrix Resurrections will be available to watch in theaters Dec. 22, as well as HBO Max. Watch the new trailer below!
