‘The Suicide Squad’ director shares possible character sneak peek

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn has recently unveiled a fun, first look at the upcoming film.

On his Instagram story earlier this week, Gunn can be seen posting up next to one storyboard sketch. The sketch in question has yet to be explained by the director himself.

While the sketch is hard to make out, many fans are already trying to piece together what the sketch could actually be, or rather, which character it takes on. You can check out what fans have to say about the sketch below.

Additionally, NME pointed out a Reddit thread that reinforces that the character in question is King Shark with a leg in his mouth. 

Recently, it was revealed that Idris Elba would not take over the role of Deadshot. While Will Smith decided to not reprise his role, Gunn and co. opted to leave the door open in case he ever wanted to come back for potential future installments.

That said, Elba will instead be cast as another character.

According to Variety, now only three characters are expected to return to their roles: Margot Robbie as the iconic Harley QuinnJai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

Gunn is reportedly still on the lookout to fill the rest of the cast. However, the Suicide Squad is set to start production this fall, with a slated release of Aug. 6, 2021.
