“We wanted the record to be a bold statement about the fundamentals of being a person. I suppose it’s quite an intense listen. It’s quite real, it’s quite honest,” Healy says in the video. “I really didn’t want to make a record that’s like the rock star sob story. It’s about love and fear and death and sex and all the things that people care about.”
The duo also discuss change – or lack thereof – in their lives since the 1975 exploded. “I really don’t think we’ve changed very much,” Healy continues. “Our lives day to day – apart from the superficial things, like pop stars, or crowds, or parties, or whatever – it’s the same group of people with the same pursuit, which is just to make music.”

“We can just afford sandwiches now – that’s about it,” Daniel says.
The 1975 are slated to release the 17 track I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It on February 26 through Dirty Hit/Polydor.
