Dale Earnhardt Jr. produced a music video for the Dangerous Summer's new song

The Dangerous Summer have released a new song and accompanying music video for “Ghosts,” and the video just so happens to be produced by Dale Earnhardt Jr.—well, his production company at least.

The stunning video was produced by Hammerhead Entertainment, the production company owned by Earnhardt, who happens to be a massive fan of the Dangerous Summer. That's why teaming up with the band for this music video just made sense. (Plus, he even shared behind-the-scenes teasers late last month!)

“Me and AJ were talking one day about shooting a video down the road at some point. Coincidentally they needed to put one together for the new single 'Ghosts,'” Earnhardt explains.

“I introduced them to friend and director Chris Stanford who wrote and directed the shoot. The staff at my production company Hammerhead Entertainment all devoted time and effort. We shot two days, and Chris and the gang at Hammerhead edited and finalized everything over the New Years holiday. As a fan and friend to the band, it was a fantastic experience. TDS fans are going to love this new incredible album. Chris, Hammerhead, myself, we hope the fans feel the video does this amazing song justice. 2018 is gonna be a big year for TDS!”

The track is taken from their their fourth, self-titled album, out Jan. 26, and based on “Ghosts” and their powerful first single, it's bound to be an incredible comeback release.

We talked to frontman AJ Perdomo about the Dangerous Summer's return, and for them, it's all about the music. Seeing that their music was still such an important part of people’s worlds was a massive part of their decision for a return.

“Getting back together was a perfect storm of a lot of things,” Perdomo says. “We found an opening and a time to do this. A lot of people were reaching out to us and saying, ‘Are you guys interested in getting this together? Will you play some shows?’

“But while the opportunity presented itself to us to do it, we didn’t want to lead with just playing shows and go straight for the easy thing and make a quick buck. We wanted to lead with the music. The heart of our band revolves around how we’ve always believed wholeheartedly in our music.”

Plus, the band will be hitting the road with later this month with Microwave and the Band Camino, and you can get tickets here.
