The Dear Hunter stream "Waves" from 'Act IV: Rebirth In Reprise'

Last month, The Dear Hunter finally announced the long-awaited fourth entry in their beloved Act album series, a conceptual powerhouse of awe-inspiring songwriting and musicianship. Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise will be released on September 4 through the band's longtime label home of Equal Vision Records.

Following the incredible, return-to-form lead single in “A Night On The Town,” The Dear Hunter are currently streaming another beautiful cut from the forthcoming album with “Waves,” a track they've been playing during their live shows for some time now. However, contrary to the mostly acoustic, solo Crescenzo song it appears to be on tour, the studio version offers all the elements fans love about The Dear Hunter. It's a full-band affair, with their signature instrumentation and layered, harmonizing vocals that simply touch the soul with a sweet, comforting caress. Act IV is two for two thus far. You can stream “Waves” below.

Touching on the themes of the new song, founder and frontman Casey Crescenzo shares with Billboard, “In relation to the story, the song reflects on a very specific moment in time — but beyond the concept, in relation to my life, this song embodies that blissful ignorance you need to navigate the throws of modern romance, keeping your sights set on bright futures, disregarding the choppy currents and squalls.”

Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise can be pre-ordered through the band's merch store. The Dear Hunter has a slew of international and North American tour dates lined up all through the fall. Those dates can be found below.
