The Killers share an emotional flashback narrative in new “Rut” music video

The Killers have debuted an emotional new music video for “Rut,” taken from last year's Wonderful Wonderful.

The video appears to be set-up as a flashback narrative of a young girl who's grown into a young woman getting out of an negative circle of behavior that's surrounding her at different points in life. It's truly a powerful video for an equally powerful track.

The band released Wonderful Wonderful last fall, and in promotion of their newest record, frontman Brandon Flowers had plenty to say on what he thinks is the bleak state of rock.

“The sexy side of rock'n'roll has been handed over to rap and hip-hop,” he says on the rock music decline. “And that seems more fruitful and fresh and forward-thinking than rock has been for a while.”
