The 10 most metal cartoon characters
The great Indian guru Osho once said, “Be metal—Don’t try to become metal”...or something along those lines. 1. Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987)
If Shredder were in a band, he would be in: August Burns Red
Originally known as Oroku Saki, Shredder has been unable to exterminate an elderly rat and his four pet turtles for years. Despite his shortcomings in the stopping-heroes department, he does have the absolute most metal name on this list.
2. Roger Klotz from Doug
If Roger were in a band, he would be in: Turnstile
Roger is the town of Bluffington’s biggest bully and Doug Funnie’s arch enemy. Aside from his sick leather jacket and killer hairdo, Roger’s mother is a monster truck driver. Need we say more?
3. The Street Sharks from Street Sharks
If the Street Sharks were in a band, they would be in: Wage War
The Street Sharks consist of four brothers who become human-shark hybrids due to their scientist father’s “gene-smashing” project. They ride motorcycles, fight other aquatic hybrid villains and bite through steel. What. The. Hell. METAL.
4. Ashley Spinelli from Recess
If Spinelli were in a band, she would be in: Knocked Loose
To avoid being confused with one of the members of “The Ashleys” (a group of ditsy, mean girl-esque elementary girls), Spinelli goes by her last name alone. She’s a tomboy, tough girl who runs the playground during recess, but also has a soft side. This sweetheart will roundhouse kick you in the face in the pit, then come to your aid immediately after. Conclusion: Spinelli is metal.
5. Reptar from Rugrats
If Reptar were in a band, he would be in: Code Orange
Let’s just say the Devil Wears Prada didn’t name one of their songs “Reptar, King Of The Ozone” because it was a shoegaze track. This fire-breathing beast is loved and admired in playpens far and wide for his badass heroics throughout the Rugrats series and movies.
