Pretending I’m A Superman – The Tony Hawk Video Game Story first premiered at the 2020 Mammoth Film Festival back in February. The documentary tells the story of Hawk’s Pro Skater series. Its title is from the iconic Goldfinger song featured in the first game’s soundtrack.

Fans got a first look into the film with a teaser that was released back in March. The clip shows Hawk throughout the years as his love for video games and success in skateboarding began.

The documentary also covers Hawk’s journey throughout the creation of the video game series that eventually went on to earn $1.4 billion worldwide. Viewers will also get to see how the series revived mainstream skate culture after its launch.

Now, fans are getting another look into the documentary with its first official trailer. The trailer includes interviews with legendary pro skaters including Chad Muska, Steve Caballero, Rodney Mullen and more. All of these skaters also appear in the rebooted Pro Skater 1 + 2.

John Feldmann, the frontman of Goldfinger, also appears in the documentary. He talks about how Goldfinger’s “Superman” became such a big part of the Pro Skater phenomenon.

“The video game obviously turned into something much bigger than I think anyone expected,” he says.

Following the release of the documentary, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 hits shelves on Sept. 4 for PlayStation 4Xbox One and PC.

For Hawk, he hopes that the Pro Skater reboot inspires a new generation of skaters.

“The original Tony Hawk Pro Skater series is a big factor in the evolution of modern skateboarding tricks and inspiring many of the pro skaters you know and love today,” Hawk says. “I’m excited to help inspire a new generation of skateboarders and gamers—and existing fans—to grow the sport even further.”

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 includes some fan-favorite features from the original games. Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater modes have returned. This time, Create-A-Park will have massive customization options. And the remaster has upped the level of goals and challenges. Players can share parks online with friends and outfit skaters with skill options.
