Could we be getting a new ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’ in 2020?

With all of the horrible things that have happened in 2020 thus far, we might finally have some good news for a change. The beloved Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater video game franchise might be rebooted.

To be clear, nothing has been officially confirmed. But, a number of leaks have hinted that we could be ripping it up as our favorite skaters within the year.

The Tony Hawk games were a staple for anyone who grew up in the 2000s. We all sunk hours into finding the location of the secret tapes and many of us discovered some of our favorite bands through the legendary soundtracks the games had.

We’re sure a number of people credit Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater for getting them into punk music. Bands like Suicidal Tendencies, Goldfinger, Bad Religion and Rage Against The Machine have all made their mark with songs throughout the series. Hell, even My Chemical Romance dropped a dynamite cover of Misfits track “Astro Zombies.”

Back in March a leak surfaced due to the art-punk band the Death Set. They reportedly posted on Facebook that they had licensed five songs to a Tony Hawk 2020 game. The post was soon deleted but not before it was screenshotted.

Now, it seems we have even further confirmation fo a new title in the works, and possibly even the name.

YouTuber SpawnWave allegedly received a tip that the retailer Gameware listed two versions of the upcoming game titled Tony Hawk’s Alcatraz. Whether or not that is just a working title or the potential game takes us to the famed California prison is unknown.

Sadly, the company has since removed the listing. Thus, it’s unclear whether or not this leak can be confirmed. But still, if we could get a new Tony Hawk this year that would be great.

The series will have to revitalize itself after the flop that was Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5The right way to go might even be to rerelease and remaster the originals, much like the Resident Evil franchise has done.

One for sure way to guarantee success would definitely be a solid soundtrack.

WaterparksAwsten Knight has already thrown his name into the hat in hopes to be featured in what could be an upcoming game.

NONE OF YOU UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH I NEED TO BE ON THIS SOUNDTRACK, I FOUND SO MANY BANDS THRU THESE GAMES WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. LOVE YOU VERY MUCH @THEPUNKROCKMBA ❤️ WHAT UP @TONYHAWK @ATVI_AB

Only time will tell if we’ll be holding ridiculously long handstands and jumping over helicopters as Spider-Man this year.
