Tony Thaxton (ex-Motion City Soundtrack) to join Braid for U.K. tour

Second-wave emo pioneers Braid have announced a temporary lineup change for their upcoming tour of the U.K. Longtime drummer Damon Atkinson will be unable to make the trip, so the band have enlisted Tony Thaxton, formerly of Motion City Soundtrack, to fill in. The band write:

“Damon will not be playing drums for these 5 UK dates. Don’t worry, though. He’s still healthy, happy, and a full-time member of Braid. For these shows, we’ve recruited the talented and capable Tony Thaxton (formerly of Motion City Soundtrack and presently of The Pride of Erie PA) to fill in. United Kingdom, we can’t wait to see you. Come see us!”

Thaxton has not publicly commented yet, although he did post a picture of himself watching Braid playing in Chicago over the weekend and also alluded to something big happening on his Twitter account:

This will be Braid's first time returning to the U.K. since 1998, and it will also be Thaxton's first time on tour since leaving Motion City Soundtrack earlier this year. Dates:
