Travis Barker: New Blink-182 album is finished

We're a little closer to hearing new music from Blink-182. Travis Barker confirmed they have finished recording their new album in an interview during his 9th annual Musink Festival this weekend.

“The album’s done, I’ll be honest with everybody,” Barker tells Punkvideosrock.com's Robert Herrera. “It’s just a matter of picking what 12 to 14 songs are going to be on the album. I think we wrote 26 or 27? So everyone right now is really pushing for their favorites.”

Barker also talks about grueling hours spent working in the studio with producer John Feldmann and what it was like writing and recording with Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba.

The drummer said having the full band in the studio together—rather than trying to work over the internet—really helped the creative process. “It was great to have someone who wants to be in the studio all the time with us. It has been amazing,”  he says of Skiba. “I think the days of making great records, at least with Blink, the proof has been shown that it’s great when we’re all in the studio together.”

The album is Blink's first since 2011’s Neighborhoods and their first with Skiba on guitar and vocals.
