Twenty One Pilots were once booked to play Warped Tour
The Vans Warped Tour has seen some of the biggest names from the scene appear on the lineup throughout the years, but there are some bands that never quite made the list.

In a recent interview with Loudwire, Warped Tour’s founder Kevin Lyman reflected on the tour’s long history. During the interview, Lyman was asked if there were any bands that he couldn’t get on the lineup, and some of the names might surprise you.
According to Lyman, one of the bands that he had booked to play the tour but unfortunately ended up not working out, was Twenty One Pilots:
“I had them booked, but then their agent got involved and they didn’t play. Go figure.”
Twenty One Pilots aren’t the only big names that Lyman tried to get on the tour.
Per the report, he once tried to get punk legends the Ramones on the tour (to do a reunion of sorts) but that never quite worked out. He also shared that he once booked Joe Strummer of the Clash, but that, unfortunately, didn’t work out because of the singer’s passing in 2002.
While Lyman couldn’t get these bands to join the tour during its long history, he’s been able to book some pretty big names.
Back in March, the tour shared its final lineup, featuring Waterparks, Real Friends, Mayday Parade and more, plus special appearances from All Time Low, Black Veil Brides, Sum 41 and more.
