It's been seven years since twenty one pilots released their studio album Vessel. However, fans are still finding clues and references within the band's older music. Most recently, one fan revisited the duo's "Holding On To You" video and noticed a few new details.

The fan shared that the "Holding On To You" video has some similarities to My Chemical Romance's iconic "Helena" music video.

Earlier this year, it was theorized that Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun reference My Chemical Romance in their video for "My Blood," off of Trench.

One user shared their theory on the twenty one pilots Reddit thread that the video is reminiscent of My Chemical Romance’s iconic The Black Parade era. More specifically, the video includes a skeleton named Pepe dressed in a bandleader costume similar to the band’s own attire.

Now, one fan thinks that twenty one pilots may have included another My Chemical Romance nod in the "Holding On To You" video. Reddit user ajnaru132 shared that they noticed a few similarities between the "Holding On To You" and "Helena" videos.

More specifically, they noticed that the scene where Helena comes to life at the funeral strongly resembles the part in "Holding On To You" where the dancer performs ballet. As well, both videos feature Gerard Way and Joseph praying, or giving eulogies, while each dancer performs.

The twenty one pilots fan further argues that the scenes' similarities could just be a coincidence. However, given that both Joseph and Dun are big fans of My Chemical Romance, the references could actually be intentional.
