Giant twenty one pilots, Ned mural appears in London

A massive Ned mural has curiously showed up in a London, England district. The twenty one pilots painting features the weird, white creature next to a bright yellow lyric reading, “this beat is.”

Additionally, Ned appears to be floating in a pool, which would be clever considering the creature’s origin.

Shoreditch is a district of London where the art scene is known to flourish. While murals in the area are not uncommon, the nod to twenty one pilots certainly comes as a pleasant surprise.

In other Ned-related news, Tyler Joseph explained what the creature means to the band. In a video chat available on Russian social media service VK, and transcribed here on Reddit, Joseph explains how Ned’s birth actually helped form the basis of Trench.

“Ned really does represent a lot of things but specifically, I guess you would say it really represents this idea of creativity and trying to take care of it and trying to please it… or appease it,” Joseph says. “It’s kinda that thing in you that tells you whether or not something is good and when you get to the stage we’re at you realize listening to that becomes more and more important because a lot of people start talking and trying to influence you and the decisions you can make creatively. And so… yeah, Ned saved us. We made the record we made because of Ned.”

Fans first saw Ned in the twenty one pilots’ music video for “Chlorine.” The duo surprise-dropped the album the evening before it was originally due. You can check out the video for the song below.
