Here’s how you can be in twenty one pilots’ never-ending music video
There hasn’t been a dull moment for the Clique in weeks as twenty one pilots continue to keep fans entertained with “Level Of Concern”-related releases.
The duo dethroned Panic! At The Disco on the rock chart shortly after, a feat that hadn’t happened in 76 weeks. Fans continued spending time trying to decipher who Michael and Julie are, and Tyler Joseph finally revealed what that line meant.
While the band are hard at work writing their next album, they kept giving “Level Of Concern” some love. They released a glow-in-the-dark star-filled Instagram filter so you could drum along just like Josh Dun.
Soon after, the duo hit The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with Ned, Simon Jefferis, Jesse Blum of MisterWives and Paul Meany of Mutemath to play the single live for the first time from their respective homes. The performance instantly launched an investigation into what Joseph really meant by “making lemonade via email,” with fans thinking it meant more music is on the way. A few days later, the band released the live version on streaming so you can add the performance on whatever playlist your heart desires.
At the end of May, TOP teamed up with Pinot W. Ichwandardi and his family to create a lyric version of the video on Macintosh SE and Macintosh SE/30 Computers. In addition to the retro illustrations, fans immediately started spotting plenty of era-spanning Easter eggs.
On June 12, twenty one pilots continued their beloved cryptic ways by launching a website (And no, it’s not dmaorg.info). This time, the duo sent fans on a digital scavenger hunt to unlock USB drives full of behind-the-scenes photos and footage.
With more than 19 drives to be found through hidden codes, Joseph and Dun expected the Clique to take up to a week to find them all. When fans got through it in 12 hours, the duo came up with another special treat.
“We didn’t think you would tear through the codes so easily. [It] should have taken a week, but you did it in just over 12 hours. You got us this time. Now join in with your footage, your art, your dances and be a part of the first-ever never-ending music video”
“This community truly beats them all. For those not sure what we are talking about we will post an explanation video soon for the locals, they tweeted.”
Having been posted around midnight EST Monday, the video is still going with fan submissions. Powered by video software Imposium, the video refreshes every 3 minutes and 40 seconds with new fan clips in real-time. The band developed the concept with award-winning director Jason Zada.
