twenty one pilots give "Smithereens" performance an NBA Finals update

After twenty one pilots were forced to cancel night two of their Toronto shows due to the Raptors making it to the NBA Finals, the band opened up a few more sections of seats for night one. That wasn’t the only surprise the band had in store for Toronto fans as Tyler Joseph gave the lyrics to “Smithereens” an update following the show cancelation.

On May 26, the band shared the unfortunate news that their second Toronto show would be cancelled due to the NBA Finals.

“congrats @Raptors on making the finals. this means we have to cancel night number two of our toronto shows for the @NBA to have arena access. @TicketmasterCA will be reaching out to night two ticket holders while we try to find more seats for night one.”

TOP later opened up a few more sections of seats in order to accommodate night two fans.

“tonight in toronto we have opened up a few more sections close to stage to get more of you in. here we see jim and josh demonstrating about where these new seats are located. good boy, Jim.”

During the show, Joseph decided to give the lyrics to “Smithereens” an NBA makeover.

“For you I’d go/Singing this song in Toronto/For you I know/Singing even though they cancelled our show”
