Twenty One Pilots' record label seeking legal action against whoever leaked "Heathens"

Twenty One PilotsSuicide Squad single, “Heathens,” leaked nine days before its scheduled release of June 24. The group’s label, Atlantic Records, is now seeking Reddit’s help in unmasking the source from which it first surfaced.

As Billboard reports, a complaint filed to the Supreme Court Of The State Of New York states digital copies of the song were only shared with 21P’s manager, as well as select label executives and radio staff members.

“Heathens” first surfaced on 21P’s subreddit by the user twentyoneheathens. It remains the account’s first and only post. Atlantic is asking the court to have Reddit reveal the post’s IP address. They stress that the leak proved detrimental to not only sales for “Heathens,” but the entire soundtrack as well.

It currently remains unknown whether or not Reddit will comply with Atlantic’s request. The Suicide Squad soundtrack was officially released today, Aug. 5, and features additional songs from artists such as Panic! At The Disco, Skrillex, Eminem and others.

In true Clique fashion, the hashtag #thecliquegoestojailparty began gaining traction on Twitter in response to the news.
