Who set their alarms early to binge-watch the second season of The Umbrella Academy? Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba's graphic novel has generated a whole new level of passionate fandom thanks to the Netflix series. Alternative Press editor in chief Paige Owens interviewed cast members Robert Sheehan (Klaus Hargreeves aka Number Four) and Justin H. Min (Ben Hargreeves aka Number Six) prior to the show's premiere.

Sheehan's portrayal of Klaus in the series is truly a wonder to behold. The former damaged drug addict somehow reinvented himself as a cult leader. Using Ben's ghost to perform paranormal parlor tricks, Klaus leads his worshipers (called Destiny's Children) toward so-called "enlightenment." Klaus is also the most hilarious member of the Hargreeves clan. That distinction comes from his extreme flamboyance and some downright ridiculous dropping of pop culture references. Owens asks Sheehan if he knows why Klaus is always riffing on pop culture that theoretically, hasn't even happened in the world yet. Ever the charming wiseguy, Sheehan dutifully answers her request.

Owens also asked Sheehan and Min which characters they would like to try on for a while. After a wee moment of consideration, the actors came to a conclusion. Sheehan would prefer to cook the eggs and make pots of coffee, while Min would take down a banana or two.

We've been eagerly awaiting season two of The Umbrella Academy since last February.  The Apocalypse Suite might be the soundtrack for one of the greatest cliffhangers in TV history. But we're totally ready to follow the Hargreeves clan through the swinging (and sorrowful) '60s. We want to know what happened to our favorite dysfunctional family the way Number Five craves a good cup of coffee.
