‘The Umbrella Academy’ not yet renewed for Season 2 after all

It was previously reported that we would be getting a second season of our new favorite show, The Umbrella Academy. According to GWW, the show had already been gearing up for season two just days after its Season 1 premiere.

However, Aidan Gallagher, known as Number Five in the series, has clarified that The Umbrella Academy has not yet been green-lighted for a second season.

Despite it all, Gallagher has still given us a tiny bit of hope.

“While I have no doubts because I’ve been to the future (it sucks by the way) — no word from Netflix on a 2nd season has been given to anyone yet,” Gallagher says in a tweet. “When it comes they will make it loud and headline clear to all.”

Yeah, we’re really bummed out too.

However, we probably won’t have to worry for too long as Gerard Way’s show quickly climbed to the number one most-binged show of last week, according to NoCable.

Additionally, Netflix recently changed their bio to “What did we do to deserve Gerard Way?”

That said, unless the world ends in eight days, the chances are still looking pretty good for the Umbrella Academy family.

In the meantime, while we all wallow in self pity, Season 1 of The Umbrella Academy is streaming now on Netflix. You can watch the trailer below.
