Untitled 21: A Juvenile Tribute To Swingin’ Utters

While they've never gotten the same notoriety as their peers such as Green Day or Bad Religion, for over two decades the California punk institution Swingin' Utters have been churning out amazing songs that defy categorization. Therefore it's only apt that there's finally an album paying tribute to the act-andUntitled 21: A Juvenile Tribute To Swingin' Utters is a fitting 31-track homage. While none of the contributions are drastically reinterpreted, this tendency illustrates how inherently diverse the band's compositions are. Some of the strongest contributions include Dropkick Murphys' inspired take on the intrinsically huge-sounding "Strongman" and Fucked Up's version of the Stiff Little Fingers-esque "Lazer Attack."



However while the big names deliver on Untitled 21, some of the finest moments come from the compilation's more obscure acts as illustrated by Everybody Out!'s version of the acoustic-driven "No Time To Play" and Teen Idols' note-for-note rendition of the melodic-punk masterpiece "Five Lessons Learned." That said, the album's standout track has to be Off With Their Heads' impassioned version of "Next In Line," which deceptively starts with a stripped-down piano intro before exploding into a working-class anthem that would make Johnny Peebucks & Co. proud.
