Vagrants deal with “Separation” in new single—listen

Vagrants won’t need six degrees of “Separation” to share their new single with you, because they’re teaming up with AP to premiere the new track.

The Florida based post-hardcore newcomers have been picking up steam since their formation only two years ago, setting sights on their upcoming EP by sharing its title track.

Guitarist/vocalist Jose DelRio highlighted the track as one close to his heart, detailing the story of parting ways with a former band member.

“‘Separation’ is a very personal track for me,” he says. “Our previous vocalist was arrested right before a planned tour and just months before going to record the EP Separation.”

DelRio says losing his friend and bandmate “was like having the rug pulled from beneath us.”

“Honestly, things were bleak, and I really wasn’t certain what the future held for myself and the band at that point,” he says. “Lyrically, the song touches on a very low point in my life and also serves to connect the dots conceptually for the EP.”

After Vagrants lost their vocalist, bassist Dylan Knapp impressed his bandmates with his vocals, leading them to draft him as the new frontman going forward.

The band’s EP is a personal one, being described as capturing that feeling of loss, whether it be something or someone close to you. Check out the equally as personal title track below.

Separation drops April 26 via Equal Vision Records, and you can preorder it here.
