August Burns Red talk fire truck grand entrance, genre recognition at the GRAMMYs
Nick Major gets a taste of his home scene on the GRAMMYs red carpet with the August Burns Red.
The group talk being out-of-place, their sweet red carpet outfits and how it feels to be recognized by an awards show as big as the GRAMMYs.
“It's something that none of us ever thought would happen to us in general or our genre of music,” vocalist Jake Luhrs says. “The fact that the GRAMMYs is shedding light on us as artists and other artists beside us—I think that's an amazing thing.”
The band also talk about their now famous pre-GRAMMYs predicament: Being stuck in an elevator.
“The Los Angeles fire department had to come and rescue us,” says Luhrs. “We said, 'Hey, we're kind of going to the GRAMMYs, you're here, would you mind maybe dropping us off at the GRAMMYs?' So, we all just jumped in a bunch of fire trucks and got here.”
August Burns red nominated for Best Metal Performance for their song “Identity.” The award ultimately went to Ghost for “Cirice.”
