New Found Glory's Chad Gilbert gives advice about developing a unique band sound

“What worked for us is we truly wrote music that we liked,” he says. “A lot of times you can get lost in what other people want to hear or what's popular.”

Gilbert says New Found Glory tried to combine their favorite genres into one cohesive sound. “If you write music that's sincere and from the heart, and what you want to hear and what you want to play, that's the best advice for starting out and developing your sound,” he says.
