Marvel's 'WandaVision' receives astounding 23 Emmy Award nominations
WandaVision has snagged 23 Primetime Emmy nominations, marking the second-highest number of nominations this year. The show came close behind The Crown and The Mandalorian, both of which scored an impressive 24 nominations. Combined with the five nominations from The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, Marvel and Disney+ brought in 28 nominations all together.
Some of the nods to WandaVision include Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress In A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie for Paul Bettany as Vision and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, respectively. The show also received a nomination for Outstanding Limited Or Anthology Series. Additionally, Kathryn Hahn received a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie, marking her second Emmy nomination.
In total, Disney brought in 146 awards across all of its platforms.

The limited series also received recognition for the iconic retro-inspired costume design, securing nominations for Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, Period And/Or Character Hairstyling and Period And/Or Character Make-Up.
WandaVision, for those few people out there who don’t already know, picks up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the events of Avengers: Endgame. It follows Wanda and Vision as they try to settle down and start a family in idealized suburbia, seamlessly incorporating classic television stylings into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As for The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, Don Cheadle received a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series as War Machine, aka James Rhodes, a character he has played on screen for over a decade. Additionally, the show received nominations for Sound Editing, Special Visual Effects, Stunt Coordination and Stunt Performance.

WandaVision and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier mark the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the first three comprising the Infinity Saga. These nominations also come after the highly successful first official movie release of the fourth phase, Black Widow. With all of the success so far, it’s hard to believe Phase 4 is just getting started.
Loki, another Phase 4 series to appear on Disney+, was not eligible for this year’s Emmys as the season finale drops July 13. Even before the series launched, Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, was excited about the way his character was going to develop throughout the show. Hiddleston directly addressed the topic during a San Diego Comic-Con panel.

“You guys saw Avengers, right?” Hiddleston asked. “So he’s still that guy, and just about the last thing that happened to him is he got Hulk-smashed. There’s a lot of psychological evolution that still has yet to happen. But I—Kevin has generously shown me what his plans are. I can’t tell you any of them, but it is one of the most exciting creative opportunities I think I’ve ever come across. This new territory, a new world, new challenges, and I cannot wait to get started.”
