The scene reacts to Warped Tour ending

The scene said goodbye to 24 years of Warped Tour last night as the punk- rock summer camp completed its final full cross-country run in West Palm Beach, Florida. Founder Kevin Lyman made an impactful speech prior to the final song as the show came to a close. Came in 2008 as an angsty teen, leaving in 2018 as an angsty manchild. Big thanks to @KevinLyman and decades of staff for putting THOUSANDS of artists into kids’ ears, many of which wouldn’t have careers if not for this gig.

I don’t think I can say goodbye to @vanswarpedtour – I believe it will live on in all of us. From the people who so passionately attended year after year and the artists that entertained them, to the warped tour staff who made it all happen. We all carry stories, memories and life changing moments that will never fade or flicker but instead carry on in all our hearts for years to come. I am so honored to have been a part of both sides. It started for me as a concert goer and then I was able to steadily climb my way up to the stage and eventually have the honor of playing on the main stage on several occasions. I fell in love and met my husband on warped and made some friends which I now consider family. I learned a lifetime of lessons and can truly say, without a shadow of a doubt, that I am a stronger person because of this tour. Thank you @kevinlyman for creating a world for the misfits and people who felt they didn’t belong so that we could come together and celebrate our lives with one another. Warped tour will live on because there is no way that any of us could forget the greatest day, days, weeks, months and years of our lives.
