Watch Gorillaz perform their first US show in seven years at intimate Brooklyn venue
Gorillaz took the stage last night for an intimate gig at Rough Trade in Brooklyn. However, the band's iconic, animated alter egos were absent.
Fuse points out the absence was not planned and was instead due to technical difficulties.

Never the less, Gorillaz offered lucky attendees a tour through their new album, Humanz, which arrives this Friday, April 28. With the expect of the album's first single, “Hallelujah Money,” Gorillaz performed Humanz in full.
The album is packed with guest appearances, some of which joined Gorillaz on stage in Brooklyn, including Peven Everett (featured on “Halfway To The Halfway House” and “Strobelite”), Jamie Principle (featured on “Sex Murder Party”), De La Soul's Posdnuous (featured on “Momentz”) and Kali Uchis (featured on “She’s My Collar” and “Ticker Tape”). According to Stereogum, other backing vocalists were situated on the stage right balcony.
Gorillaz just released a bonus track from Humanz, called “The Apprentice,” featuring Rag'n'Bone Man, RAY BLK and Zebra Katz.
Even though they were't present at this gig last night, Gorillaz's animated characters did their first live interview recently.
Catch Gorillaz on their forthcoming North American tour.
