Watch the first trailer for 'CBGB'

The first trailer for CBGB, the film that traces the storied punk venue's beginning premiered today via The Hollywood Reporter. You can watch the clip below.

Alan Rickman plays Hilly Kristal, the man who founded CBGB (Country Bluegrass Blues) in 1973. The club closed in 2006. Of course the history of CBGB would be nothing without a little music history. The trailer shows glimpses of Talking Heads, Blondie, Ramones, Dead Boys, the Police, Iggy Pop and Patti Smith–all played by their onscreen counterparts of course. Curious as to who's playing who? The Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins plays Iggy Pop, Malin Akerman plays Debbie Harry, Rupert Grint and Justin Bartha play Cheetah Chrome and Stiv Bators of the Dead Boys, Ashley Greene is Lisa Kristal, Hilly's daughter, Johnny Galecki stars as record executive Terry Ork, Mickey Sumner plays Patti Smith and Kyle Gallner is Lou Reed.

CBGB opens in theaters October 11.
