Waterparks hashtag gets “Dream Boy” early debut on SiriusXM pop station

It looks like we won’t have to wait until Thursday after all to hear the brand new Waterparks track “Dream Boy.” In what should no longer come as a surprise, the band teamed up with SiriusXM to strike a deal and create another trending hashtag.

This is simply more proof that Waterparks are our dream boys.

Following the band’s announcement of their forthcoming album Fandom on top of their new song “Watch What Happens Next” with their incredible Awsten Knight-directed video, Waterparks were looking to make a deal with fans.

If there were able to get #FANDOM trending at No. 1, they’d drop another new track this Thursday.

Never doubt the Parx fandom.

The band held up their end of the bargain by announcing they would drop “Dream Boy.”

A short while later, SiriusXM Hits 1 retweeted Waterparks’ tweet, looking to sweeten the deal.

The offer was countered, looking to switch out retweets for trending topics.

The station agreed to the terms, creating a special hashtag just for the occasion.

Fans were then given the challenge of pushing the hashtag into the top 5 trending topics on Twitter.

Within ten minutes, #DREAMBOYonHITS1 was trending at No. 7. Still, that wasn’t good enough.

Fans came through a short while later, snagging the top 5 spot. However, Waterparks were ready to keep the momentum going.

After reaching the No. 4 trending topic, Waterparks agreed to drop the track TONIGHT.

“Dream Boy” will air on SiriusXM Hits 1 tonight at 10:00 p.m. EST, marking the band’s first track on pop radio.

It looks like the track will be played alongside heavyweights like Ariana Grande and Panic! At The Disco.

We’re so proud of our dream boys!
