We finally know what to expect from MGK and Mod Sun’s ‘TTMD’ movie

Machine Gun Kelly is showing no signs of slowing down. Along with various video releases, a Halloween musical podcast and the debut of his No.1 album Tickets To My Downfall, he has another new project in the works.

Both MGK and Mod Sun are working on a new film and we finally know what it’s about.

Mod Sun and MGK previously teased that a film based on Tickets To My Downfall was in the works.

Then, earlier this month, Machine Gun Kelly confirmed that filming for the project has wrapped and that it is now a Tickets To My Downfall musical. At the time, not much information had been shared. However, the quick Instagram video shows that TikTok star Chase Hudson is involved in the project.

Now, Machine Gun Kelly has spilled some of the details on the upcoming musical. He tells NME that the project is basically a “pop-punk Grease” and that it was all filmed in four days. As well, this musical marks the directorial debut for MGK.

MGK further shares that the inspiration for the Tickets To My Downfall musical came from a running joke between him and Mod Sun. They frequently use the excuse of needing to watch Grease 2 as a reason to leave certain situations.

“Maybe that joke sparked the whole idea, because now we’re making a new pop-punk Grease,” he says. “It was almost like shooting 14 music videos back-to-back, but with a narrative that’s outside of my personal life stories.”

Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker are narrating the musical that focuses on various characters.

“It focuses on other characters,” he continues. “And then me and [Barker] are just the narrators. It’s an interesting concept because it hasn’t been done for an album ever, maybe outside of like Pink Floyd’s The Wall.”

A release date for the musical has not been shared yet. However, Machine Gun Kelly is cranking out plenty of other Tickets To My Downfall content in the meantime. Earlier this week, he unveiled the chaotic video for “forget me too,” his collaboration with Halsey.

As well, he recently released his entertaining video for “drunk face.” Directed by Mod Sun, the video shows how MGK celebrated the release day of Tickets To My Downfall. Machine Gun Kelly earned his first No.1 debut with the album that hit the top spot on the Billboard 200.
