10 of the most random yet epic musician friendships

Nothing warms our cold, dead hearts more than when we find out that two of our favorite musicians are actually friends in real life, especially when their art couldn’t be more different.

Thanks to social media and a little bit of creeping, we’ve discovered several weird artist friendships that we would’ve never imagined.

Remember when Poppy and Marilyn Manson went to Disneyland? Or that time Halsey revealed her adoration for popular K-pop group BTS? Luckily, we’ve rounded up 10 of the most unlikely musician friendships for you to be shocked at. Check those out below.

1. Kesha, Marilyn Manson, Alex Wolff and Nicolas Cage

2020 has already gotten off to a strange start with Kesha, Marilyn Manson, Nicolas Cage and Hereditary actor Alex Wolff (The Naked Brothers Band) spending time together at a film premiere. Luckily, the internet was full of photos of the weird hangout, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

2. Halsey and Taylor Swift

While both of these women are dominating pop music right now, it was surprising to see Halsey come out in such strong support of Taylor Swift during her masters sales controversy. Halsey has always been a champion for women, but we just didn’t expect to see this duo. Thankfully, they haven’t kept their friendship totally private and graced the stage with one another at last year’s AMAs.

3. Bring Me The Horizon and Backstreet Boys

At last year’s Grammys, Bring Me The Horizon showed their love for the veteran boy band and chilled with the group backstage. While it’s unclear how or if this friendship has progressed, it was definitely an unexpected photo to see on our Instagram feed.

4. YUNGBLUD and Machine Gun Kelly

While we’re so used to this dynamic duo making amazing tracks and hanging out all the time now, it was unexpected when YUNGBLUD and Machine Gun Kelly first started being pals. They’ve discussed their love for having fun, singing Taylor Swift karaoke and more, so they’re definitely two people we’d love to spend a Saturday night out with.

5. Poppy and Marilyn Manson

As previously mentioned, it was iconic when a photo of these two having a blast at Disneyland appeared online in 2018. Poppy has opened up about becoming friends with the legend and inviting him to be in her cult, so we stan this friendship.

6. Post Malone and Ozzy Osbourne

Everyone was shocked when Post Malone dropped his album that was complete with “Take What You Want featuring Travis Scott and Ozzy Osbourne, but now we can’t stop listening to it. Posty’s also featured in a documentary about Osbourne and talked about his legacy and influence.

7. Billie Eilish and Justin Bieber

Billie Eilish has been a “Belieber” since she was young, so it was pretty much her dream come true to drop a remix of “bad guy” with Justin Bieber. While it definitely seems like she’s more of a fan than a close friend, it’s nice to see that there’s equal admiration among the artists.

blink-182 and Lil Wayne co-headlined a tour last year that was pretty confusing for many people, but they also appear to be friends as well. During Lil Wayne’s birthday in September, the band got onstage to gift him weed, because that’s what friends are for.

9. Halsey and BTS

Halsey and BTS broke the internet with their collab “Boy With Luv” last year. They’ve performed the track together and always look so happy to be hanging out. Halsey also wrote a heartfelt tribute to the K-pop group that nearly brought us to tears.

10. Marilyn Manson and Taylor Swift

The internet completely lost its mind when Manson and Swift were seen together in the most on-brand photo ever. Manson is making a stern face and dressed in all black, while Swift is smiling ear to ear and wearing an outfit fit for a unicorn. We wonder if these two ever get together for a drink on the weekends. And, if so, what could they possibly be talking about?
