As ComicBook.com reports, DC teased the '80s setting at CinemaCon. "[Wonder Woman is an] optimistic and positive character," director Patty Jenkins said.
"This film set in the '80s, she has to deal with the temptation of our world and face extraordinary odds."
Jenkins explained that the setting will let viewers see Diana Prince at a different point in time in her superhero career—"She is now at her full powers. We're raising the bar."
And the movie is shaping up to be an incredible one.
Earlier this year, Kristen Wiig was confirmed to be taking on the role of Cheetah in the upcoming Wonder Woman flick. Plus, original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter revealed she might be appearing in the upcoming film, too.
Wonder Woman 2 is set to be released Nov. 1, 2019.
