According to Stereogum, fans started getting worried that a 50th-anniversary extravaganza wasn’t gonna happen. However, the promoter of the event, Michael Lang, announced that there are still plans to hold the concert in 2019.

In a story with the Poughkeepsie Journal, Lang says that while there are no concrete plans in place for next year’s concert, he has full intentions on keeping the spirit of Woodstock alive.

“These are plans,” Lang says. “This is not a done deal yet. But it’s very close.”

Lang also said that an official statement regarding the festival would be coming soon.

“We’re hoping to inspire people to speak up and get involved and get out and vote and help us save the planet,” Lang says. “We are in trouble and it seems like we’ve been brought back in time in a lot of ways.”

The original Woodstock site now belongs to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, the museum also features indoor and outdoor venues that frequently invite old Woodstock acts to come back and perform. The current promoter of Woodstock, Lang is not associated with the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.
