According to TMZ, '60s soul trio The Diplomats claim that Mathematics, a producer for Wu-Tang, ripped off the “melody, lyrics and rhythm” of their 1969 track “I've Got The Kind Of Love.”

The lawsuit also points out that the phrase “people say” is a prominent lyric from The Diplomats' song.

The soul group state that they never gave permission to Wu-Tang for use of their music, and claim that many fans and 'ordinary listeners' have pointed out the similarities online.

The Diplomats have requested adequate financial compensation for the use of their music and ask that Wu-Tang halt the sales and streaming of “People Say.”
